IOHughley 10 years ago | I just signed up for the program but I am having trouble signing in. |
Ossie-Sharon 11 years ago | Hi, moonmaiden. Fruits are relatively rich in carbohydrates, as are starches, legumes, and milk – but they are also high in fiber and water, which helps balance out the sugar. It is also important to note you still need certain amounts each day. This program is based on principles of diabetes care, the Menu Planner ensures carbohydrate sources are spread out through the day and accompanied by protein and/or fat to ease the impact on your blood sugar. No worries. |
moonmaiden 11 years ago | I’m a type 2 diabetic and was told that all fruits are high in sugar except for berries and that my carbs needed to be limited way more than this plan is suggesting. How do i know what is the right way to go????? |
Ossie-Sharon 11 years ago | Hi, Melinda. Because this program is a lifestyle and not a restrictive diet, it will definitely seem like a lot of food. The amount is to ensure you are not hungry, and to keep your metabolism up. Also, because the foods are unprocessed, the volume (allowed) is larger than for processed (denser) foods. |
melindab123 11 years ago | Can you help me understand the amount of food? I can’t eat this much. Will I still lose weight if I cut some of the portion sizes down? |
candacemcnabb 11 years ago | We do not have any healthy chicken in our town. Is there a place that I could get them online? Thanks!!! |
Ossie-Sharon 11 years ago | Hi, Candace. How about free range? organic? Those are fine, too. |
candacemcnabb 11 years ago | I just began this diet 2 days ago. My small town does not sell grass fed chickens. Any suggestions? Thank you! Candace |
Ossie-Sharon 11 years ago | Hi, kydano. Tomato is not a free food, but rather presented in a separate list that you can see when you click on “Vegetables of Your Choice” in your menu. Here is the link: https://www.trimdownclub.com/vegetables-3/ |
kydano 11 years ago | I don’t see tomatos on the list? Is this a free food?? |
Ossie-Sharon 11 years ago | Yes, we will continue to add values. They are indeed important. Thanks for the feedback! 🙂 |
annchilds 11 years ago | Yes, the Carbs-Protein-Fats-Fruits-Veg values. |
Ossie-Sharon 11 years ago | Hi, Ann. Sorry, I’m not sure I understand your question. Do we plan what going forward or backward? Adding nutritional information to recipes? |
annchilds 11 years ago | Thanks–this was helpful. I notice that a few of the recipes have the Carbs-Protein-Fats-Fruits-Veg values broken out. That’s REALLY helpful to me–I get to use community recipes and be able to judge if they fit my Trim Down profile. Is there any plan to do this going forward (and going back?). |
