I wrote this 5 days ago and have had no response other than my menu was made available at last. I\’d be grateful for some advice, please, Sharon.
I have just signed up and am completing my menu options. However, I find that I have added far more than I normally eat to ensure all the bars are blue but it will not let me move on until the button is orange. I know I will not buy or eat some of the items added as we tend to eat very healthy options unless on holiday. Meat – wise we tend to eat free range chicken (weekly), the occasional low fat sausages, salmon (weekly)pork medalions (monthly) lots of vegetables – 5 or 6 each day, the same with fruit. Lunch tends to be an apple, an occasional banana and a roll only twice a week maximum. I make homemade chicken and leek soup with lentils, carrots, parsley and sometimes tomatoes or peppers. We don’t have puddings except fruit and have oat porridge with semi skimmed milk, decaf tea and croissants some weekends. Snacks tend to be an apple or tea with semi-skimmed milk. HELP, please!

Once my menu is set for the week and I don’t like the breakfast for the day, can I go to another day’s breakfast and eat that? If so, then it seems it does not make any difference when I eat what?? Thanks.

Hi, FleurD, and welcome. You can choose whatever you wish, and please just ease into it and do whatever is comfortable for you. If you are unfamiliar with the foods, a great site for finding them in the UK and reading a little about them is http://www.goodnessdirect.co.uk.
With regard to your specific breakfast question, you will find milk is in the protein category, and up to a teaspoon of sugar per meal is “free”. Whatever your menu gives you, you can always swap foods for those that are nutritionally equivalent (for example, each slice of bread is equal to 1 Weetabix biscuit).

Just joined and trying to create a menu. Do not know what most things are. I would like a simple easy to prepare/eat on the go breakfast. for example if I select weetabix does that include milk and sugar as so far haven’t found them on the list. Sorry if I seem stupid, but I never done a diet before as I knew they would not work but finally found something that makes sense and I really want this to be a success.

Hi, Sara. The system wants to ensure you are getting a good variety of foods. However, if you really don’t want them, you can swap in your usual options from the same food groups at mealtime.

Like sassy21 I had to click things a will not eat at the end because the program wouldn’t let me move on. I just signed on yesterday and am excited, but I won’t eat some things that I had to click just to move on to the next page. Why do they do that?

Hi, fiestas. For your current measurements (and if the yogurt is plain), yes that suits your needs. Remember that the amounts will go down as you lose weight, to make sure you don’t get hunger, lose muscle, or slow down your metabolism. If you have been on restrictive diets in the past, it may take your body a little while to get used to normal amounts of foods – you can jump-start this process by adding some exercise (even just walking in place in front of the TV) or if you’re active, add something new or change something to wake up new muscles.
If you have trouble finishing the meals, don’t fight it. Just be sure to get all your fruits, vegetables, and calcium-rich foods.

Hi, Hll730. Just take it slow, get to know the information and the Menu Planner (see Christy’s guidance below, as well as the video tutorial when you enter the program), and just go through the food lists to see what you like, where you can upgrade (the foods in the lighter blues are the healthiest), and each week just try to make a few small changes, add physical activity, etc.
In the Groups area is a collection of like-minded souls who can help. Try “Successful Beginnings” – lots of support there. If you have any tech questions, you can reach support through the “Contact Us” link below, and if you have any nutrition questions, I’m in the forums.

Below is a list on how to make changes to your final menu plan:

1. In order to make changes to specific foods in your menu plan, simply click on “Apps”, followed by “Menu History”. Then, select the menu you would like to edit by clicking on “View”.

2. Once your menu appears, click on the food you would like to replace, and a list will appear with alternative choices that you can choose from.

3. Additionally, to change an entire meal you can click on the white rotating arrows to the right of the meal.

4. If you would like to create a completely new menu, click on the “Apple” logo entitled “My Food Choices” to return to create a new menu by deselecting and selecting foods that you want. If you choose this method don’t forget to click the “Save and Create Menu” button afterwards.

5. If there is a food that you can’t find in the menu, why not make a suggestion by clicking on this link to suggest foods to add to the Menu Planner: https://www.trimdownclub.com/suggest-foods/

Can i redo my menu over if so how do I do it ?

fiestas 10 years ago

Ossie, The first breakfast menu says I can eat 1 egg, 3/4 cup pineapple, 6 oz of yogurt and 2 whole wheat muffins. That’s a lot of food. Is that correct to loose weight, sounds like a weight gain menu?

My wife and I joined this program yesterday and are finding the menus and the shopping for items on them to be a lot of work and time consuming as both of us work full time. How do people in our situation manage this.

Is there an easier way out like a TO GO option where we could mix branded stuff as part of the menu so the process becomes easier?

Thanks for your help.
