Hi, tootsie. We don’t work with calories here, but rather with meeting your nutritional needs. You can see the exchange lists here – https://www.trimdownclub.com/exchanges-lists – which correspond to your meal pattern – visible through the “Exchange mode” link in the toolbar above your finished menu.

Also, if you are short on time, or work all day in the office, the best way to preserve a healthy diet with a packed schedule is to plan ahead.
Here are a few tips to keep you eating a healthy nutritious diet during those long, tiring days.
1. Pack a healthy breakfast the night before, that way when you wake up, all you have to do is grab and go. Try to choose simple foods from two or more food groups to give you a balanced breakfast. Examples might include: whole wheat bread, pita, fresh fruit and vegetables, low fat cheeses and yogurts.
2. It is recommended to make a power-packed lunch and store it in a freezer- microwavable container ready for the week ahead. Some healthy options might include Whole Wheat Pasta Salad, or Brown rice and Vegetables, Grilled Chicken and Boiled Vegetables.
3. Stock up on nourishing, on-the-go foods like apples and oranges, snack-size low-fat yogurt, raw nuts, raisins and other dried fruit.

Hi mich3767,

If you have created a menu through the Menu Planner application, click on the “Exchange mode” button in the toolbar above it and your pattern will be displayed. Starting with the Menu Planner menu also gives you the flexibility to choose the foods you want and substitute for others – to switch a meal just click on the circular arrow icon to the upper right of each meal, and you can slip foods into each exchange slot. That way, you can mix any source of protein you want. Best 🙂

I need help the menu is fine but with my schedule the options it has given me just isn’t practical can anyone tell me what the carb/protien/veggie ratio needs to be so I can plan my meals effectively for my family, I was hoping that this program would tell me exactly how much of what I can eat at each meal in that sense so I could plan meals easier and also what about when i am out on the go and have to pick something up? how do i know what to eat and what not to eat?

Hi hj00517,

To get tips and guidelines that will help you get the most out of the menu planner application and grocery list, simply click on the following link: https://www.trimdownclub.com/menu-planner-tutorial/

Also, if you feel the foods in your meal plan don’t suit your needs, please feel free to change out foods.

1. In order to make changes to specific foods in your menu plan, simply click on “Apps”, followed by “Menu History”. Then, select the menu you would like to edit by clicking on “View”.

2. Once your menu appears, click on the food you would like to replace, and a list will appear with alternative choices that you can choose from.

3. Additionally, to change an entire meal you can click on the white rotating arrows to the right of the meal.

4. If you would like to create a completely new menu, click on the “Apple” logo entitled “My Food Choices” to return to create a new menu by deselecting and selecting foods that you want. If you choose this method don’t forget to click the “Save and Create Menu” button afterwards.

5. If there is a food that you can’t find in the menu, why not make a suggestion by clicking on this link to suggest foods to add to the Menu Planner: https://www.trimdownclub.com/suggest-foods/

Best of luck 😉

Is there an option for an available grocery list? Do you suggest I make the foods at the beginning of the week and heat up throughout the week since they are a little random? I’m a college student so convenience is key
