Are there "Gluten Free SWG" products available, where and what name to look for?

annushkaenkeli 9 years ago	What, for the love of cthulhu, does swg mean? The only thing I could find says it is “star wars galaxy”. Why do people use uncommon abbreviations without any explanation?

Ossie-Sharon 12 years ago	Udi’s does not appear to use sprouted grains. The bigger issue is that there are a lot of ingredients in the breads that are less than desirable (like corn syrup). If you can find a “cleaner” bread – even if it is not sprouted – that would be preferable.
BeckieMcLeod 12 years ago	Thanks for the links. I currently have been purchasing Udi’s Gluten Free millet chia, whole grain or cinnamon raison breads. What are your thoughts on this brand? Would they be a non-designated SWG?

Ossie-Sharon 12 years ago	SWG means “sprouted whole grain” – wherein the grain seeds have been allowed to sprout before incorporation into flour and baked goods. The product will be labeled if it is SWG, indicating “sprouted”. You can also buy products online at http://www.foodforlife.com.
dancarpenter 12 years ago	I’m sorry I don’t know what SWG means (I’m new)…but my wife is g-free; hasn’t found a good bread but HAS found good bagels. Don’t know the brand but we buy at our local supermarket (big chain) so I’m sure you wouldn’t need to look too far.

BeckieMcLeod 12 years ago	I have recently had a food toxicity testing done and gluten (amoung many other foods) are toxic to my body and I am trying to avoid them in my regular diet. So I am wondering if there is gluten free SWG bread and other products available?
