Hi, Zosia. Coffee is fine. Do watch what you put into it, though, as sweeteners and whiteners can add up and sabotage your efforts here. Milk is fine, but do remember to count the amount – when it gets to be a full cup, subtract a carb + protein exchange, preferably from dinner. As for sweeteners, I suggest this article, which may help make a good choice https://www.trimdownclub.com/the-best-way-to-sweeten-your-tea-2/.

Hi, Blueberry. Meat/fish/poultry/vegetal products and vegetables you weigh before cooking. All grain products you weigh already cooked.

Do I measure weight of food when it’s cooked or before it’s cooked and what about frozen food, do I thaw it first? Also I heard that it’s not good to eat too many eggs,is this true?

Hi, tirfaovewe2. How long have you been following the program? Were you on restrictive diets in the past? Sometimes it does take the body a little while to get used to eating normal amounts of food. If you have had restricted food intake before joining, the fact that you are staying the same and not gaining is a good side – it will just take a little time.
As for carbohydrates, this program is fairly low – about 40-45% of energy, compared to 50-65% in regular diets.

I have been following your menu for me by my choice of foods, and sometimes I have to substitute from your list . I am staying the same and not losing. I exercise also. Have I got too many carbs in one day.

Hi, Tessa. Liver is enjoyed all over the world, actually, and we are indeed planning on adding it to the Menu Planner lists the next time they are upgraded.
50 grams raw/40 grams cooked would equal one meat exchange. You can definitely swap this in as you wish.

Hi Ossie,
Not sure where to put this question, but would welcome your comments.
I live in the UK, but get the impression that offal meats are not something that many American citizens enjoy as I have found no mention of it thus far.
I have always enjoyed a slice of lightly cooked calves liver, and although expensive I like to treat myself a couple of times a month. It is highly nutritious being high in iron and B12 amongst other good stuff.
Is it OK to exchange any of the protein foods in my menu plans for liver now and again, and would it be an ounce for ounce exchange?
Would appreciate your comments. Thank you, tessab

Hi, RushingLaura. Of course – whatever works!

I’m new and trying to change my life style. I do find the menu planner helpful, but what I’m finding that is more realistic right now is to kinda go over it and see when I should eat, a carb or a protein…etc and the type of combination of foods I should be looking for and incorperating my own healthy choices. Is this ok do?
