Hi, Niobe. The foods in the video are the common forms of popular foods found in most markets, whereas we encourage you to favor better versions instead of giving them up altogether. In the case of bread, the term “whole wheat” has loopholes that allow manufacturers to add refined white flour, whereas “100%” whole wheat is a legal term meaning it is ALL whole wheat, and therefore much better (it is still recommended to read the label to be sure you avoid hydrogenated fats and mono- and di-glycerides, also known as E-471 and E-471).

One of the foods that we were told not to eat at the beginning of this program was whole wheat bread yet it is in out planned menus. Why is that?
