Hi, DMeakin. We don’t generally recommend those types of sweeteners because they are artificial and may work against your goals here. If you like flavored soda, you can make your own with carbonated water, flavor extract, and a healthy natural low-sugar sweetener. The types of sweeteners we encourage are covered in our article here https://www.trimdownclub.com/the-best-way-to-sweeten-your-tea-2.

Hi I like a product called vimto. It is produced in the UK and I like it with cold or hot water. The sweeteners in it are sucralose and acesulfame k.

Hi, Amanda. That product actually has a few artificial ingredients in it that may work against your efforts. Try organic alternatives, such as Mega Food Daily Energy – see the ingredients list in ths link http://www.iherb.com/MegaFood-Daily-Energy-Nutrient-Booster-Powder-30-Servings-1-86-oz-52-5-g/56437. You don’t necessarily need to use this specific item, but here you can see the type of thing we recommend.

Hi, DeannaHa. The added vitamins might be a gimmick, but they’re still OK. Flavored waters can also be OK, but just look out for sweeteners and artificial additives.

What about flavored water drinks like Sobe Life Water. Plain water gets so boring after a while and I seem to crave it with some more taste. Plus it says it has vitamins in it? or is that just a gimick?

Hi, Sitter88. We actually wouldn’t recommend those, as they contain artificial sweeteners that can work against your efforts here. You can read more about the types of sweeteners we do recommend here: https://www.trimdownclub.com/the-best-way-to-sweeten-your-tea-2. For flavoring, squeezes of citrus or steeping berries or sliced fruit in water for several hours does the trick and provides extra health benefits.

What about coke zero?

What about water flavorings like Mio, are those okay to use?

Hi, savedbyfaith. We don’t recommend colas, and “diet” oddly enough has it’s own disadvantages. You can read more about these issues in our articles, including https://www.trimdownclub.com/the-best-way-to-sweeten-your-tea-2.
