Hi, MPScarlet. I’ll just chime in here and say that for people who have been on restrictive diets in the past and had their metabolisms slow down as a result (which seems to be most people who join this program), it is VERY common to have that response while your body gets used to normal amounts of food again. In addition, you are absolutely correct – loading up at night can be a barrier. Don’t worry about this phase too much – you’re making an effort, and eventually it will work out. You can also compensate a little by doing a few exercises before turning in for the night, i.e. walking in place in front of the TV for the length of a 1/2-hour show (or more). To connect with people in your spot (or who have been there and come out the other side), I suggest you join one of the groups (link above). The most popular is “Successful Beginnings”).

I followed week one very well, except I have trouble eating as often as the program suggests, meaning that I was having most of the food in the afternoon and evening. I assume this is why I actually gained 3 pounds. I’m working on eating earlier and more frequently and being done a few hours before bedtime, and hope this will cause weight loss. Anybody else having this issue?
