| | life has a way of giving us all ups & downs. many times we can feel we are so low the only thing that will help is to reach for comfort food. comfort never makes a person stronger. knowing that others are struggling too is not much comfort. even though it is a fact. as humans we hate to admit when we are lost, we want to believe we can find our own way. when I’m lost, I like to charge up my mp3 player and listen to my favorite tunes. I love disco, funk & classic rock. Oh yeah, I march to my own drum, always have, and no I do not care I can’t dance like a tv star, I dance because it makes me smile & feel happy. over the past few days I’ve read about people who need help on motivation. music is the best motivator, but can we take it a step further? what if your lost & need motivation? I remember a story about another boy & girl who were lost & used food. they left bread crumbs as a trail to get back home. of course…that didn’t work out for them either – so we must learn from the story & realize food is not the answer for help, making a map is. what kind of map you say? what about a pad of post it notes with what you want to happen. On the mirror: post a note that says: your beautiful~! (honestly you are but you have forgotten) On the fridge: post a note that says: shake your booty~! (you know you love to, go get that music quick! and shake that booty now) inside the fridge: post a note at eye level reminding you of your goal to trim down (hey, you joined the club it’s a goal!) On the phone: post a note that says: I love you~! (you gotta love yourself first) for myself, I often use an entire pad to remind myself of all the things life has caused me to forget when it’s throwing me up & down. I post them all over the house (it’s easy enough to take them down & repost) You have to be the one who loves yourself the most in this world, even though we are caretakers of people who also need us & our love. Leave notes for them too. 🙂 when you begin to hear the words of hate the world throws in your face, grab up those tunes & get happy. don’t listen to hate, listen to music ~ be happy. Dance, Smile, Laugh, create a new YOU. Be strong – you are SO worth it. |
