That’s good advice janesiney. I think no processed food but here in the UK our ham and bacon are cured.

I click apps, then the first menu option and change foods to suit me and try to stay at 86% healthy. I only measure what it states. I e 2 oz protein or a cup of veg.

Hello Hypidion,
Does your menu say pizza da Greco? If so it’s referring to a recipe. Otherwise I think it means a thin based plain margarita pizza…and it probably won’t mean more than a small slice. For the first week or so, I made notes alongside each item on the menu that put the amount into ‘real’ terms for me. Eg I weighed out the amount of potato I was meant to have and found it was more than I usually eat, so wrote,”normal portion fine”. That way, when I was putting food on plates for the family, I knew what to give myself without having to get the scales out. It has worked… I’ve continued to lose an average of 1lb per week.
You’ll get the hang of it soon, I promise!

Hi I’ve joined and I’m struggling to get my head round this a bit!! I take it everything we eat has to be weighed and or measured? I’m confused about the breads and where it says pizza in my menu for tea!!
Think I need a couple hours to sit and digest all the info!
Good luck everyone

Hello Everyone,

I am also from the UK and now at the end of week 6. I have lost 4 lbs so far. I too have been struggling to fit in all the eating on my working days but have now got into the habit of preparing and measuring the night before to take it with me.

With regards to cup measures (which I also have) Wilkinsons sell sets of 4 white ceramic ramekins that hold one cup. I now use these and they can also be put in the dishwasher.

Hi Fruitcake,
I tend to try an swap the daily menu round to make sure I eat the bulk of the food during the day rather than having to eat a lot later in the day. I have been doing it for about 7 weeks and have lost a pound a week. I tend to cook in bulk and freeze in portions.

I am also from the UK and have been using a set of measuring cups that I happened to have which come in 1,1/2, 1/3, 1/4 cup sizes, which have been perfect. If you are near an Aldi (and who isn’t these days?!)they were selling ceramic cup sets on their sales shelf as recently as Friday 15th April. Mine originated from Boots.
Hope that helps any ‘cup’ issues!

Welcome 🙂
I understand your concern about some of the foods we recommend being hard to find.

Listening to our customers is the best way to improve what we’re doing. So, we would like to know exactly which foods you would like to see added to the Menu Planner and which foods are causing confusion. Your thought definitely counts!

Please keep in mind that the foods in our lists are actually collected from around the world (and available in the UK), but lesser known to many. They were selected because they are less mass-produced and therefore relatively unmanipulated and more nutritious and supportive of health and healthy weight management. I do encourage you to take advantage of our shopping guide https://www.trimdownclub.com/where-to-buy-UK; one of the sites, http://www.goodnessdirect.co.uk, offers nice explanations of their foods. Regular supermarkets such as Tesco, Asda, and Waitrose are increasingly carrying these items as health-conscious consumers are increasingly requesting the; Holland and Barretts carries even more, of course, and Whole Foods Market even more.

I hope this information helps. If you have any questions don’t hesitate to get in touch with us.

To your success!

240 ml in a cup I’ve read

jenfroggatt 9 years ago

I have read in the topics that 240 ml which is nearly our 1/2 pint is the cup size. I’m going to measure 240 ml in one of my cups/mugs and use that as a guide Jean.
