Stevia as sugar substitute

![]() | Hi, GingerHoney. Coconut nectar is a great alternative to refined sugar and agave nectar in terms of how the body metabolizes it, but do keep in mind that it is still high-carb. It is used like simple syrup (concentrated sugar water), in amounts similar to regular sugar. When you use it, do so in moderation – it can all add up. |
![]() | I personally dont like the taste of stevia. Can I replace it with coconut nectar? If so, how do I substitute the amount needed? |
![]() | I agree with you about the recipes. Many of them don’t make sense. |
![]() | Thanks! |
![]() | Hi, Parfitt. There is a range of opinions on this. To substitute for 1/2 cup sugar can take anywhere from 1/2 teaspoon to 3 teaspoons of Stevia powder. I suggest using the try-and-taste method. |
![]() | I have a number of favourite family recipes that call for sugar. Will Stevia powder work in these recipes? |
