Hi Briony,
I’m having the same problem and am fighting with it, too. I’m 46 and for the past 30 years I have been fighting with my weight one way or another… The ups and downs of my weight caused my body to become very reluctant to react with weight loss during any attempts to shed some pounds. A sports specialist (M.D.) tested me and told that the change in hormonal balance is partly to blame. Once estrogen starts to run out, the next best thing the body gets it from is fat cells… hence the saying “with growing age grows the waistline”. I believe following the principle of controlled carbs, plenty of lean protein, tons of fish, tons of chicken, the occasional steak, loads of vegetables (lots of them raw) and a piece of fruit here and there, gallons of still water, nothing processed or ready-made and 30 minutes of light running a day does the trick. Plus not being defeated! Good luck!

Hi, Briony. Do you look or feel any differently than you did when you started, or see differences in your measurements or how your clothes fit? Sometimes the numbers don’t always match. How is your salt intake? Have you been on weight loss diets before? If so, what types and how recently?
Beyond that, you are welcome to post your height and weight, along with a sample day from your menu, and I will run some calculations and get back to you.
