| | Morning Sharon, thank you for your reply, I am in Cornwall in England and I think the site-although very good is US based so many foods could be added and many are applicable just to US. thank you again. |
| | Hi, Robin, and welcome. “SWG” stands for “sprouted whole grain”. This is available in health-oriented stores, as well as a some warehouse-type stores. I don’t know in what country you live, but the name can come in various versions, including just sprouted wheat, etc. |
| | I have just joined the club and am also a shift worker, early starts, late finishes etc. can anyone suggest what type of drinks are good for this diet? Water obviously and coffee but what else, also what is SWG when talking about bread? Desperate to lose weight!! Thank you and best wishes to all |
| | Hi, kamarjelin (and thanks to the rest of you for the great tips!). You can also fill thermoses with hearty soups and shakes. Recipes here: https://www.trimdownclub.com/recipe_type/soups/ |
| | lol. True! When I have to be out for a long stint, I pack a lunch bag w/ a freezer thingy and put in a container of yogurt, string cheese, cheese sticks, or even a boiled egg for my protein. I also pack fruits as well. If I need a carb for some snacks, I take a hunk of SWG bread, or some whole grain crackers. Any of those possible? |
| | I think carrots etc will have to do. Our work only stock nestle sweets etc , not good for the figure. |
| | unfortunately the vending machines dont always stock with healthy snacks, this means you have to bring your own. The snack isle has single serving boxes of things like nuts, raisins, etc. Sometimes the deli has sliced apples, or carrot sticks, celery sticks, single serve hummus… just have to familiarize yourself with what’s healthy & have a look around the grocery store. Walmart has all the things I mentioned. |
| | Anyone know of good snacks for when working 12hour shifts as i tend to pig out on vending chocolate because i seem to be always hungry. |
