Most carb exchanges in the program have 15-25 gm carbohydrates per serving. The suggested allowance depends on your weight/BMI, weight goals, and level of physical activity – when you go through the menu planning process, you will see how many we recommend for you per day.

“Organic Cinnamon Plum Spiced Multi-Grain Hot Cereal” is an excellent choice, but one serving is closer to two carbohydrate exchanges because of the added sugar (cane juice).

I love cooking them in milk, it makes a tasty and healthy breakfast. Also there’s an option of adding a few pieces of dried fruits (raisins, for example) to sweeten it in a natural way and without adding a lot of sugar. Still, it makes for a high-calorie breakfast so I don’t eat it too often.

No need to eat them uncooked – if they are there alone in the mal, it just refers to the amount. You can cook them in water, or even in milk if milk is listed in the meal. Other than that, some people add oats to yogurt, salads, and soups.

How do you eat uncooked oats? Is there a way to make them palatable?

Orange, lemon, or lime juice or a flavored vinegar should work just fine.

Chicken Grilled Salad calls for grapefruit juice. Due to meds I take I can’t eat grapefruit, or drink its juice. What can be substituted

Yes, “SWG” means “sprouted whole grains”. These products are usually organic, and always the healthiest option in terms of digestion and general benefits. Nearly all of the ingredients can be found in health food stores, including large chains with good selections, i.e. Whole Foods. Such shops carry SWG products, organic everything, low-fat versions of foods, omega-3 eggs (also available at regular supermarkets) and various oils, nut butters, etc. Raw dairy products are generally available through specialty shops – easy to find online. If you have questions about specific items, please post, and someone will get back to you.

What is SWG?

I think some of those can be found in health food stores – like SWG breads and maybe some kinds of milk, etc. Not sure if you can find them in regular food stores… Do you have some specific foods in mind?
I guess it all depends on where you live and what kind of shopping options are nearby…
