Hi, dwarner2014. No, we don’t include protein shakes here because the program is essentially based on whole foods. As such, we recommend all-natural whole food-based meal replacement shakes, such as Garden of Life Raw Meal (http://gardenoflife.com/Products-for-Life/Foundational-Nutrition/RAW-Meal.aspx). Even if you don’t like that one, just note the ingredients list to get a sense of what we suggest may best support health and healthy weight management.

I am new and didn’t see any Protein type shakes on here. Sometimes in the morning I don’t have time to cook before leaving for work and I make a protein shake with almond milk and strawberries. Are there any protein shake allowed on this program?

Hi, Paul. No worries – this program is moderate in protein. It is high enough to support muscle grown and hormone balance, but not at a level that can tax your kidneys.

Wouldn’t it make sense to eat lean protein snacks, post workout, like nuts, beans, chicken…etc.
Also, I’ve heard cherry juice is good for muscles, post workout.

I have been drinking Protein drinks and have been eating very little carbs & training quite hard.
But after a blood test, I have to go back to the doctor because He’s not happy about my kidney reading from test.
So I will find out problem shortly. My problem is how do I get the protein (without having protein drinks)I need to help repair and recover from
workouts without putting to much of a strain on my kidney?
