![]() | Also, Marianne, be sure to select the metric option in the toolbar above your menu (it is the left-most option). |
![]() | Hi, Marianne. Since a “cup” is a volume measurement, just use the 240 ml equivalent. With regard to the amount of rice needed in cooking, note that each 26 ml dry = 80 ml cooked. |
![]() | Hi, it’s me again. I’ve now lived in the UK for 40 years and have always been able to adapt recipes from imperial to metric portion measurements. However, I cannot deal with cup sized portions. On the odd occasion where I tried a US recipe I got things disastrously wrong so I stay well clear of them. |
![]() | Hi everybody |
![]() | I invested in some cups from eBay for £3.99, they amazed me at how much it is and because I’m eating that amount it’s making me uncomfortable, but will keep at it. You need to read the menu carefully LOL My husband measured out 1 cup of porridge it look huge (90g) but I reread it and it said one cup of COOKED porridge 3oz much better… an you imagine cooking 90g with water it would have exploded out of the microwave. |
![]() | Hi, I have just started this diet and am also in the UK. If 1/2 cup is 120ml is 3/4 180ml? The reason that I’m asking is because on my menu planner is says that I am to have 3/4 cup of porridge, 1 cup of milk and 1/2 ounce of pecans for breakfast. Am I to cook the porridge with the cup of milk or water and have the milk as a drink. I am finding this all too over whelming and feel like it’s not for me. I joined last week but I had already been food shopping before my partner found this website. I have been trying to stick to this but I am finding it hard to find the time to plan and cook the meals for me and my family. My son needs a high fat diet as he has ADHD/ODD and burns food off as quickly as he’s eating it. I wish I had that metabolism. |
![]() | Hi, SCT49. 1/2 cup = 120 ml. |
![]() | It’s me again — search cooking measurement conversions on your computer and you should find everything you need as I did. |
![]() | I’m not sure about that either. I also have a dilemma — I love fresh avocados but can’t figure out how to measure one ounce. Anyone know? |
![]() | I am just starting this diet and am in the UK where we don’t use ‘cup’ as a portion size. Can anyone tell me how much 1/2 a cup is please? Or how to change the settings to UK measurements? |
