I would like to ask if anyone else as a reaction to sugar free items?

Hi, Marty, and welcome. If you have been on restrictive diets in the past, it may indeed seem like a lot of food. But don’t fight it – it’s great that you’re in tune with your satiety signals! Yes, you can definitely vary the foods, which is especially easy if you use the full Menu Planner application (in “Apps”) above. Cutting back around dinner time is the best place – genius, in fact. Just try to end up with 5 total fruits+vegetable servings throughout the day.

I am new just started on 3/22/15. Trying to eat the food but it seems to be a lot of food and finding it hard to eat it all. Can you vary the foods? I have found that I cannot have the snack after Dinner because it is too much for my stomach I’m not used to eat anything after Dinner. Will this mess up my weight loss. I had lost 60 lbs with another program but I have gained 40 lbs back not good. I need to lose that 40 plus 20 more lbs and hoping this program will help me stay motivated and stay on track.

Hi, Harriette. Herbs and spices added to as many things as possible not only wake up your taste buds, but also contribute a tremendous amount to your health and possibly to your ability to burn fat. As far as carbohydrates go, there are various types of rice and quinoa that you can try, and parsnips are an option similar to potatoes that have a different flavor.

OK, I will keep up with my eating plan as you said and will shake up my exercise. I do have another question. I have to be careful with starchy carbs because I am gluten intolerant. I mostly stick with sweet potatoes, squashes, steamed veges. I also have IBS which can create problems with my stomach. Any other ideas to wake up my tastebuds?

Question to Ossie-Sharon…what is your first name and have you lost weight on this type of nutrition…?

Hi, Nomad. That’s wonderful! That’s exactly the sort of thing that helps 🙂

Don’t know if this will help but I am continuing to lose more than a pound each day…my daily diet follows some of the suggested one but I vary it from day to day…some days salads are on the menu some days they aren’t ..some days even tho’ it’s time for a snack I bypass the snack..and don’t eat anything until I get hungry..lately I start eating and then when I feel full, I stop even tho’ I may have not eaten a lot…I save the food for my snack or when I get hungry. When I crave a sweet I take a little bite so my mind or body won’t think I’m totally giving up what it’s been used to having…like I said I hope this helps I’ve dropped nine pounds in seven days…I need to keep this up for at least two or three more wks….lots of luck

Hi, Harriette. Plateaus are normal, but they are generally temporary. The best way to give yourself a boost is by making some changes to your exercise to wake up new muscles, add some time and/or frequency if you are doing it only a few times a week, and combine intensity (for example, bursts of 30 seconds of jogging for every 5 minutes of a regular pace during a walk). We don’t recommend to reduce the total amount of produce you eat in a day, but you can swap fruit for non-starchy vegetables, and some of your starchy carbs for vegetables or protein.

First time in the forum as well. I have hit a plateau after two months and losing 14 pounds. For the past week, my weight hasn’t budged even though I am continuing with my meal plan and daily exercise. Any suggestions? More protein and less veges and fruits? I’m open for ideas because I really love this plan and want to continue. I need to lose another 40 pounds to be at my ideal weight. Thanks!

I know what you mean, Nomad. I have been on the program for almost two months, having lost over 14 pounds, but for the past week or so, I haven’t noticed any weight loss at all. What can I do to jump start my weight loss again. I am continuing to eat according to the plan and exercise regularly, but need something to boost the loss again. Any suggestions? More protein and less veges and fruit?

Thanks for the reply..no am not starving myself…my snacks are usually a piece of sharp cheese, raisins, oranges, nuts, etc. I have been mixing a small salad w/each meal…alittle meat of some sort and then quit when I feel full…today am beginning some exercise to complement my other food venture…..if I feel an urge for some sweet,I take a little bite and that takes care of he urge…did you see my question about the type of cereal to eat..will probably use the dry cereal as a snack..my bread is Ezekiel…again thanks for the reply…Marty

Hi, Nomad, and congratulations! Sometimes there is fast lost at the beginning, and then it levels off. If you aren’t starving yourself, then no damage is being done. The foods that appear in the lightest blue in the Menu Planner are the ones that are most advantageous for burning fat, as are herbs and spices, as well as green tea.

I sort of follow my menu and started this pastMonday …I’ve lost seven pounds but wonder if I’m not scaring something to store fat…is there a food that we must east sometime through out the day to burn fat or not scare the mind into storing fat.
