Okay, after looking through some of the 2013 Newbies posts I’ve figured out what SWG is.
Sounds like a page of definitions would be a great and needed addition to the web site.

I’m day-one new to this and while I’m trying to build a menu I keep running into things I don’t understand. Is there a cheat sheet or key for symbols and acronyms?
What does the “pot on a burner” symbol mean next to most of the vegetable menu items?
What does SWG by the breads mean?
My menu has Home Fries listed but I can’t find a recipe on the site for Home Fries?
Last, one of my menu items is shrimp. What is the suggested cooking method for the shrimp?
I’d really appreciate some help.
Thanks

Hi, dnsford1. A “free spread” is a spread (sweet or salty) that up to a certain amount does not need to be counted in your menu tally – i.e. 1-2 teaspoons of all-fruit jam or cream cheese, etc.

Could someone please tell me what “free spread” is on the menus?

Hi, vickieg. You can select a similar food or recipe in the Menu Planner as a place saver, and then swap in your recipe at mealtime.

Just a question. if I decide to try a recipe, how do a work the rest of my menu around that
