Hi, lothararnold. It depends on the sweetener used. We don’t encourage artificial options like aspartame, acesulfame K, cyclamates, or saccharin, but xylitol and Stevia are excellent.

Hi, Kathleen. The entire program is essentially a gradual detox. You can start with week one and go through the eight-week process of upgrading your food intake, or you can repeat menus as you wish. You can also skip ahead to the personal version of the Menu Planner application, wherein you select the specific foods you want in your menu, guided by our color-coded system (the healthiest foods are in the lighter blue shades).

its all too difficult to understand. Do I start with the first weeks suggested menu does that include detox do I just keep repeating the same menu or does it depend on weight loss

Hi, Lesley, and welcome. You might find something in the “Tips and Tricks” thread, or in one of the Groups (link at the top right corner of each site page) – the most active is “Successful Beginnings.” If you have nutritional questions, I’m happy to help in whatever way I can.

I’m a joiner..all a bit complicated at the moment but I want to lose a few pounds. As a middle aged woman in a stressful job I just seem to get heavier as the years go by. Any tips welcome.

Hi, Barbw47. I recommend that you use the personal version of the Menu Planner, so that you can choose the foods you want to go in your menu (and avoid the ones that don’t work for you).

Hi, Getto58, and welcome. If you click on “Exchange view” in the toolbar above your finished menu, you will see the per-meal and daily totals of exchanges allotted to you.

Hello I’m new to this and would like to know about exchange ie carbs, fat, protein. How do I work out how much I need of each? Thanks

For frozen waffles, we again recommend the types you find at health-oriented shops.

Hi, goldelf. In the Menu Planner, an “English muffin” is like a British crumpet, and a regular muffin is as displayed here: https://www.trimdownclub.com/?s=muffin&post_type=recipe. We do prefer you make them yourself (that’s usually the best way to avoid artificial ingredients), but if you’re short on time, we recommend to buy them from a health-oriented shop such as Whole Foods Market or health-oriented website such as Goodness Direct (http://www.goodnessdirect.co.uk/cgi-local/frameset/script/search.html?query=muffin).
