| | I am really confused … Is there a dietician consult charge, or is it free?? |
| | Hi, Melg612. If you look up the recipe on the site, toward the bottom (before the Comments section), you may see a listing of the exchanges. The value of the exchanges are here: https://www.trimdownclub.com/exchanges-lists. In the future, we will have a more detailed assessment of the recipes available. |
| | Where can I find the nutritional info for the recipes? Thx! |
| | Hi, Evelyn, yes, it seems like a lot of food, but that is the beauty of TDC. You will be full and won’t be binging on food that is not good for you. If it is too much, try smaller portions, but eat all the types of food listed. |
| | Am I really supposed to eat all the food listed for the days menu or am I supposed to choose 1 or 2. Seems like an awful lot of food if we are really supposed to eat this much. |
| | hi ossie….how many carbs, proteins, fats, am I supposed to have in entire day, and also, should it be equally distributed with the meals. How would I know the count in a particular food, such as the peanut butter I spoke with you last time. |
| | Hi, DotBibber. The foods listed in the lighter blues are the best health-wise, and the darker blues are OK in small amounts. Peanut butter: 1 tablespoon (14 grams) is equal to 1/2 protein and 1 fat exchange. That means you can use it in place of nuts or even 1/2 ounce of a rich cheese. |
| | I would like to ask ossie how to make changes to my menu…I know there is an exchange list, but how do I use peanut butter….and is there a list somewhere that lists good and bad foods….I’m starting to finally get into this but finding it still a little confusing. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! |
| | Hi, Debbie! You need to give the diet a good try. Just eat the amounts that are suggested for you. It is particularly made just for you. You will be full. We have several members here on TDC that are diabetic. They have found that their numbers are the best in their lives! The amount of protein is spaced out during the day, so that each time you eat, you are eating protein with your starch and vegetable and fruit. That way, the food is processed inside your body properly. You will be happy to know that that the Trim Down Club eating program is based on the American Diabetic Association guidelines, 🙂 (We don’t call it a diet, those of us who have been on TDC a while … it is a lifestyle!!) |
| | I just joined today nd am very worried looking at the recipes as the portions seem tiny 55g fish in a main meal? Do you bulk upp with fruit n veggies? I fear going to such extremes as I am type 2 diabetic on insulin but I want to give the diet a good shot Also can you put in your own recipes into the menu planner |
| | Hi, LeeJay. In these forums, I can respond to you, as can other members. In the group, the members support one another. |
| | HI everyone and thank you for your help. I have checked out our breakfast ideas and still trying some of them out, but I have never been real fond spending time in the kitchen so I look for fast, healthy and easy. Not an easy task. I am a bit confused. I read that if I have questions to ask Ossie but then I am reading to ask in another group? this site is very confusing and I am getting frustrated. I am grateful of all the help and tips just not sure of where I am suppose to actually be asking. |
| | Ossie is our resident dietician and she is free, Ask her, or ask in our group!! If we can’t answer it we’ll send you to her!!lolDebbie |
| | Leejay , we have a whole section in our group forum dedicated to breakfast ideas! Come take a look!! Debbie |
| | Hi, LeeJay. Your breakfast sounds great. Almond butter has the advantage that it is high in omega-3s, though peanut butter is higher in protein. Both are good. |
