Hi, NanieMom, and welcome. The problem with most skim milks is that artificially produced whiteners and texturizers are added in to make up for the loss of color and creaminess with fat extraction. These additive have been suggested to cause just as many problems as the fat itself. The best option is to find organic pastured milk, where there are no such additions, and the fat is very good quality.
To both you and ConnorKieran, wine is definitely allowed and is in the Menu Planner list under Fats – Beverages.

I’m a new member and am wondering why the menus call for 2% milk instead of skim? Also, is it ok to have a glass of wine on the diet? Thank you!!
