Ossie-Sharon 10 years ago | Hi, marigarc. Night eating can be trouble for weight management, but we certainly don’t want you to suffer. In this case, high-protein snacks are best – they are satiating and help your hormones adjust, and are especially important to help your body fight the side effects of asthma medications, including bone and muscle loss. The most recommended ideas include: – Hard-boiled egg, especially the omega-3 type (make some ahead of time and keep them refrigerated) – Yogurt, especially the “bio” type, as the good bacteria may help counteract the weight gain effects of interrupted sleep (get the plain variety then mix in your own low-carb sweetener and fruit – a little no-sugar-added all-fruit jam will be better than the tons of sugar or artificial sweeteners added into fruit-flavored yogurts). |
marigarc 10 years ago | Hi Everyone, Could really use some guidance. I’ve been battling with asma episode for about a week. Waking up at 2 or 3 am to take my therapy. Am finding I’m getting hungry at this hour, am trying to drink water and get back to sleep, but water is not cutting it anymore. Can I have a snack, its too early for breakfast but have challenges on what to eat that won’t result in gaining more… Desperatly, Mari |
