Hi, Dorrie. It’s not an issue of carbs, rather the quality and wholeness of the food. For example, you want to minimize processed foods and saturated fats, and if you do have carbs, then sources rich in fiber.

do I need more carbs will that bring the number up? I am always afraid to eat too many starches for fear of bringing up my blood sugar. I can try for grass fed beef in this area. thanks

Perhaps instead of hamburger, can you get a hold of organic lean beef (called 85% lean grass-fed in the application)? Instead of soda biscuits, can you choose a whole grain alternative?
