Regarding the Menu Planner issue, I have forwarded your entry to our tech support team.
With regard to preparation, you can refer back to the main program guide (chapter 3) and scan our online recipe collection for ideas. All non-salt seasonings are excellent sources of antioxidants, and so are recommended.
Sweetener alternatives that we recommend include unprocessed Stevia, monkfruit, and xylitol.

Sorry for the typo . . . I meant to say “there are NO guidelines”

The menu planner included several foods in my daily menus that were NOT selected foods . . . and to be truthful, some foods do require some preparation and/or additions to make them more palatable however, there are guidelines as to how to go about this, for example: cooking methods,seasonings, or sweetener alternatives.
