Hi, I just joined last evening. I to am in menopause and have gained about 12 pounds. This is the most I have weighed with the exception of my pregnancy. I have had to change my clothes size from a six to an eight and afraid of having to go higher. I do love to cook and prefer to not eat processed foods. I am so happy that I found your web site. Will stay in touch…and thanks!Debs55

Hi, Klukasik63, and welcome. There are many women just like you using this program. You may get a lot out of joining one of the group (link in the upper right corner of each site page). The most popular is “Successful Beginnings,” but there are others you may find to your liking.

Hi, I just joined and I’m menopausal with belly fat. I’ve yo-yo dieted all my life. I need help. My husband never gains weight and eat less than him. I feel like I am going nuts. I hate my hormones and what’s happening to my body. I could use some encouragement.

Hi I have just joined this plan, as although relatively active, walking dog, up and down stairs all day, just moved house, my fibroids, endometriosis have meant I have piled on the weight and
cannot shift it. How has this worked for you? Needing inspiration

Hi, MitchG. Some of the supplements described in our newsletters are intended for what you are describing. With regard to sciatica, have you considered acupuncture or massage for the problem? In addition, some exercises may actually help. The UK National Health Service has posted some in the attached:

Hi there, I am ‘perimenopausal and piling on the weight even though I don’t eat much and try to keep active. – I am looking forward to trying this eating plan and have realised that what worked for me a couple of years go doesn’t now! so am trying to do new activities, however, I have sciatica and feel restricted? I am also interested to know if any supplements would be beneficial?

Hi, cjsimon. That could indeed be the reason. We are also fairly low in carbohydrates here, but focus on high-fiber sources and lots of protein and good fats to help with that. We also encourage physical activity, which can be an incredible help. If you are not active and/or find yourself struggling here, too, please do repost, and I would be happy to work with you.

Hi, I just joined this club as a menopausal women who has been on a low carb diet for 4 1/2 years. I originally lost 25 lbs. and have been steadily gaining it back while continuing with the low carb lifestyle. I am wondering if my hormone imbalances are causing me to be resistant to this lifestyle. I joined here so that I could learn more about balancing the right kind of foods to lose some weight and maintain it.

Hi, Juelsat. How are you doing? It is great that you are doing so much exercise. It will be your best ally! If you feel yourself starting to plateau weight-wise, try adding some strength-training, even light weights.

Hi I now weigh more then my last pregnancy when I was 36. Any help or ideas. I’m walking at least 10,000 steps a day with 30 minutes of walking a night.
