![]() | Hi, Norma. A measurement cup or class is equal to 240 ml. |

![]() | Hi, Trishfren. Most oatmeals are similar, so I’ll give an estimate, but you may want to double-check the box. The ratio is about 1/3 cup oats with 1 cup liquid to make 1 cup oatmeal, so you would use 1/2 cup dry oats plus 1-1/2 cups liquid to make 1-1/2 cups cooked oatmeal. |
![]() | Thanks for answering that, but it leads me to another question. How do I know how much dry oatmeal to cook to yield 1 1/2 or 2 cups of cooked? The box only says that 1/2 cup equals one serving—- not how much that serving actually is. I suppose i could do it by trial and error but do you happen to know the proper amount of dry? |
![]() | Hi, Trishfren. The oatmeal measurement is for cooked. If you want to cut down on the portion, you can swap it out for another starch portion in the Menu Planner list (1/2 cup for 1/2 cup or slice of bread or even some low-fat milk, which also has some protein). |
![]() | Here’s a dumb question— When measuring oatmeal/porridge do you measure it dry or after cooked? I would assume dry, but some meals call for 1 and 1/2 cups, that’s a LOT of cooked oatmeal. |
