Ossie-Sharon 12 years ago | Hi, Ox44. “Tech team working on it” means that the menu scaler function will be added, and the shopping list function will ultimately included recipes. Until these are fully operational, please do let me know in which recipes you are interested, and I will scale them down for you. Beyond scaling down, note that all recipes freeze well, and may save you time later. |
cgoode 12 years ago | Ossie, I want to thank you for answering our questions. Your answer was extremely helpful and I’m looking forward to starting my new way of life. Thanks again. |
Ossie-Sharon 12 years ago | Hi, Donald. The menus really give you foods you didn’t check off? I am forwarding your query to the tech development team. Good for you for tweaking – ultimately, the goal is for users to get the hang of the healthy eating patterns and manage “forever” and not just as a weight loss diet. Bravo for getting off white flour and sugar – not easy, and you won’t be sorry! |
Ossie-Sharon 12 years ago | Hi again, CGoode. The foods you listed – is that what the Menu Planner gave you? It appears to be too little for you, especially in the morning, depending on how many times per day you have a handful of nuts. If it is just once a day, this could result in rebound weight gain. I would suggest that you add a source of protein to your breakfast, as carbs by themselves are rarely a good idea after a long “fast” – perhaps milk or an egg and then add some fruit to it, and then of course, a snack between breakfast and lunch, which is hopefully what you are doing. The pattern you had listed before looked better – take a look back at what you listed, as it was perfect. |
DonaldZettler 12 years ago | I love the plan, but I also have a problem with the menu planner. I went through the choosing foods faze. The menu planner still uses foods in the menus that I have not chosen so I have to tweak almost every meal before preparing it. Also some of the combinations given for a meal are totally ridiculous. Seeing as how we are all paying for this plan I hope the people who run it are listening. On a brighter side eating by portions and more often during the day has helped me lose the weight I wanted to and now holding at that weight. I have completely done away with white flour and sugar and find that the foods I am now eating taste a whole lot better. |
ajtaillon57 12 years ago | In reviewing some of the food descriptions, is there a Thesaurus somewhere which will tell us what the equivalent is in our country or area? Please advise as I have heard of some of the beans in particular, but know that there is another name for them. |
cgoode 12 years ago | Hi Ossie, age is 50, height 5’3, weight 150 and I’m not a couch potato but I’m also not extremely active. Sample day: Breakfast -Quaker oats instant oatmeal for breakfast, plain no sugar or milk. Lunch – 6 triskets with chicken salad on them & a pear. Dinner – baked chicken breast, broccoli, brussel sprouts. Snack – orange. I drink regular unsweet iced tea all day with some plain water. In between I may eat a palm full of mixed nuts. So in my opinion with this menu I’m eatting: Carb for breakfast, carb, protein & fruit for lunch and protein, vegetable & fruit for dinner with protein for snack. I don’t eat alot of dairy as you can see. I do like cheese. What do you think. Thank you again for your help it makes a huge difference. |
Ossie-Sharon 12 years ago | Hi, CGoode. This is something that we will be publishing in the near future. It is a little different for each person, but again, what you listed is perfect. If you want to post your height, weight, activity level, and even a sample day from you menu planner, I can give you something more precise. |
cgoode 12 years ago | Ossie I appreciate your response but I was looking for a little more guidance. Can you tell me what I should eat for each meal. I gave an example. I’m not looking for the exact meal just the formula. Thanks |
shorti508 12 years ago | Hi Ossie, It’s Shorti or bev, whichever u choose. It has been my experiece when working with a data base, adding categories, i.e. mustard, it is a condiment, not eaten alone, goes with hog dog, etc. or used in recipe, etc. will send the food to the right choice. hope this helps… shorti |
Ossie-Sharon 12 years ago | Hi, CGoode. You have the right idea about the Menu Pattern. Be sure to get sources of calcium in there as part of your proteins. For the snacks, squeeze in extra fruits and vegetables and a little protein. |
Ossie-Sharon 12 years ago | Hi, Chubabubba. I have forwarded your examplaes to the tech support team. In the meantime, feel free to move the foods around there to whatever combinations you want – the point is that over the course of 24 hours, they together meet your nutritional needs for the day. |
chubabubba 12 years ago | Yes ‘heathermom’, I too am getting gabbage out of the menu planner. I get a ‘smack’ with 20 pretzles, cup of bell peppers and a slice of bread.???? For a dinner I got this: •1 Tbsp of Honey Mustard Dressing •2 ounces of Tilapia Grill •1 cup of Butternut Mung Bean Soup •1 cup of Cabbage •2 Tbsps of Low-Fat Sour Cream •1/2 cup of Black-Eyed Beans Even better a late night snack: •1/8 tsp of Mustard •1 cup of Vegetable Juice •2 slices of Rye Bread •1/4 cup of Egg Substitute, Egg White Based, In Oil •1 ounce of Cold cuts, Beef, Lean Something is wrong here! Glad they have a 60 moneyback policy. |
cgoode 12 years ago | Hello Ossie, I’m still kinda new & haven’t really began the diet per say. I’ve changed some of my eatting habits but still trying to figure this diet out. I love all the input from everyone and am really looking forward to beginning 100% after my vacation next week. I too am having difficulty with the menu plan, it either gives me items that make no sense or items that are more prep time then I have at the time. When I try to change something out it gives me things that I don’t care for. Can you tell me what the simple plan would be? For instance, Breakfast – protein & carb & fruit? Lunch same? Or lunch – protein, carb & vegetable? Dinner -Protein, carb, vegetable & fruit? Snack – whatever goes together. I believe with all the suggestions you’ve provided I can pick & choose what I can eat at the particular time & make sure that I combine the meals correctly. Any help you can provide I would greatly appreciate the help. |
