Hi, Anyagold. There absolutely IS such a thing! It all depends on the quality and amounts of ingredients that go into it. First, the bread should be from whole grains (preferably sprouted) and without artificial additives including hydrogenated fats. Second, the spreads should be minimally processed – for example, avocado, tahini, and mustard are great alternatives to mayonnaise and similar “dressings.” Third – and this is where your second question comes in – proteins should also be minimally processed and without artificial and/or cancer-causing additives; you mentioned turkey, which preferably should be straight from the animal, a rule that holds true for other meats such as roast beef, and tuna canned in water, sardines in tomato sauce, omega-3 eggs, and hummus are other great options.

Is there such a thing as a healthy sandwich? I love turkey but can you recommend a good combination of other options
