Hi, AnitamI, and welcome. No need to jump into the water head-first – just ease into the program a little at a time. Get used to various aspects, don’t throw out any food, and find your way.
If you want fruit for lunch, you are welcome to move some from the snack, especially if you don’t have diabetes and/or are counting carbohydrates closely. The latter is really the only reason we don’t have fruit at main meals – to keep carbohydrate sources evenly distributed throughout the day. If you like squash, as long as you make it yourself from whole fruit and don’t throw out the pulp, it’s fine in certain amounts (1/2 cup = 1 fruit serving). Cold water is particularly excellent for drinking!
We have information resources and support groups (see the link in “Groups” above) that can help you, if you wish. The most popular group is called “Successful Beginnings,” and it is full of people just like you 🙂

I signed up a few days ago but wasn’t really practically and mentally ready re foods in the house etc I remembered to look today at one if the lunch menus and followed I think the main principles. I was surprised there was no fruit and also then wondered what to drink,. I do like squash but guess too much sugar. I have out a jug of water in fridge as will drink water but it’s got to be cold! Because I have a family I need to be more organised and think before I shop so I have adequate snacks in. I feel sluggish , poor stamina and lots of belly fat never lost since both children and had c sections so couldn’t exercise after birth….poor excuse as they now 12 and 14!!

Hi, and welcome! I suggest you try joining one of the groups for support (link above). The most popular is “Successful Beginnings,” but there are others that you may find helpful as well.

This is my first day, actually hour, in the TDC. I don’t know what to expect. I have lost weight in the past (40 pounds at a weight loss camp, 40 pounds juicing), but both times I gained the weight back. I just turned 54 and I am tired of the weight, yet I don’t feel very motivated to do anything. I am presently in the worst shape of my life. I hope this works.
