I just completed my first week and lost 3 1/2 pounds! I feel so much better eating this way.

Start with what you like, and see how your body responds. The main things to remember are that it is best to combine carbs with a source of protein, and fats with a source of carbs (or carbs+protein). We suggest an overall ratio of 1 gram protein to 3 grams carbs (1 serving protein to 1.5 servings carbs).

I agree with Aimee. Where is the number coming from and if I create my own menus how will I know if they fall within the correct nutritional value (around 80). I am trying to do menus (based on the meal planner incorporating the right ratio of carbs/proteins) that make more sense to me than some of the menus the plan creates.

Ok, I’ll continue with the plan, thank you Ossie!

The 70% and 82% are numbers in the upper left corner of my daily meals. I have no idea what these numbers mean. Other than I think 82% is better than 70%?!?!

Hi, Aimee. Thanks for the great input. I will forward the issues to the tech support team.
Fast foods and refined products were added because many of the users who lived in remote areas do not have access to healthy foods and yet still need to build a menu that serves their needs based on portion sizes and scheduling. We still encourage all to avoid those items as much as possible.
In the meantime, feel free to take advantage of the substitution function in the menu planner – for example, if you don’t want yogurt and tuna in the same meal, swap the yogurt out for spelt bread or crackers; at breakfast, swap the peanuts for milk, etc. Given the many different tastes among users, this new feature is especially for situations like yours, where you don’t like the automatic results.
Finally, what do you mean by 70% and 82%?

aimee1127 12 years ago

AND…(I’m on a roll) there are only 4 servings of fruits and veggies, i.e. 1 cup blueberry, 1 cup raspberries, 1 cup bell pepper, 1 cup mixed green salad.

Can I stick with my old meals? Why was there such a huge change with the planner??? I think it’s horrible now.

aimee1127 12 years ago

Oh, and the value for my meals are in the 70%? The old plans they were 82%. What’s with all the fast food choices? I’m not selecting any of those choices but there seems to be quite a bit of that. I thought this plan is suppose to encourage healthy choices. And what’s with all the white bread? Aren’t we suppose to focus on 100% whole grain??? If I wasn’t confused before, I am now!

The dinner is horrible.
Dinner •1 cup of Mixed Green Salad•1/4 cup of Classic Egg Salad•6 ounces of Low-Fat Yogurt, 2%•1/2 cup of Brown Rice Pasta (Cooked)

Peanuts, blueberry and granola for breakfast?

Tuna, yogurt and raspberries for snack? Who puts tuna and yogurt together???

Ossie-Sharon 12 years ago

Hi, Aimee. Can you tell me what you didn’t like about the output? I will forward your response to our development team.
In the meantime, I would suggest cutting the granola portion in half as we discussed earlier, and spreading Snack #1 over the other two snacks to balance them out more.

Ossie – what the heck happened to the meal planner??? This is the “new” meal planner…what kind of meals are these???

Breakfast •1/2 ounce of Peanuts•1 cup of Blueberry•1 cup of Raw Granola
Snack #1 •1 cup of Tea, Green/White/Red•1 ounce of Tuna, Canned in Water•6 ounces of Greek Yogurt, 0-2% Fat•1 cup of Raspberries
Lunch •1 cup of Pepper (Bell)•3 ounces of Turkey (White)•1 cup of Brown Or Wild Rice (Cooked)
Snack #2 •1 ounce of Chocolate (high % cocoa)
Dinner •1 cup of Mixed Green Salad•1/4 cup of Classic Egg Salad•6 ounces of Low-Fat Yogurt, 2%•1/2 cup of Brown Rice Pasta (Cooked)
Snack #3 •2 ounces of Raw Cheese

Regular “raw” cheese is cheese made from milk that has not be pasteurized or homogenized.
Vegan raw cheese is made from pureed nuts.

The 14-day express meal plan is under “Downloads” above.

where is this plan?

esrs 12 years ago

When trying to exchange vegan yogurt for something else, the list includes both 1 oz. of raw cheese and 2 oz. of raw cheese. I’m confused—which one should I use?

Ossie-Sharon 12 years ago

Hi, Linda. I am also a vegan, and have ensured that the Trim Down Club is suitable for vegans – there are many, many options with which to build a menu. There are also many gluten-free options, and you will find that most of our recipes are gluten-free. Once you get into the Menu Planner program, you will see how easy it is to build your own custom menu that will suit all of your needs.
If you have any other questions as you go through the online processes, feel free to ask – nutrition questions here and tecnical questions through the “Contact Us” link below.
