| Regarding the grass fed beef, this might be of interest |
| I have had to goggle things quite often to find out what they are eg cilantro is coriander. I made oat flour by putting oats through the food processor. I use a milk from Sainsbury’s which is pasteurised but not homogenised and is so creamy and gorgeous! I also got hard cheese from Sainsbury’s which is made with unpasteurized milk (grated Parmigiano Reggiano D.O.P. I use Tate & Lyle Light at Heart which is a mix of white sugar and Stevia. I have not found Stevia syrup but I assume it is very sweet so I had some honey in the cupboard and used it instead. I have been getting most of my stuff from Tesco, though and get it delivered which means I am not tempted to buy anything that I don’t really need. It took me a while to get the hang of the menu planning but I can now get it to produce a reasonable combination of foods for me most days. I live alone and make stuff in batches and freeze it. I just tweak the recipes a bit if I don’t have the exact ingredients. |
![]() | Hi all, I live in London so you would think I would be able to get the ingredients more easily than those of you who are in other areas of UK, but I’m still having trouble. Most things I have found are in health food shops for exaple I have been eating quinoa for years, but things like SWG bread are hard to find. I think we just have to ytake what we can from the plan, and find suitable alternatives where we can’t. |
![]() | I also have had a bit of trouble accessing a lot of the ingrediants .I found waitrose supermarket have a lot of whole meal products and the only supermarket to stock rice milk . I also buy organic meat & vegetables where possible . I do struggle with the menus not really to my taste so ijust adapt ingrediants & portions sizes to my recipes lost 5 pounds on my 1st week . so will stick at . also our health food shops do stock a lot of products sometimes a bit pricey. |
![]() | Channybobo – I had never heard of raw milk either but it is milk that it is unpasteurised. It is actually illegal in Scotland but it is ok in England. I wouldn’t bother about the label “raw milk”. Normal milk is ok as long as you do not have the full fat milk if you are trying to lose weight. |
![]() | In reply to Maureen – I take it you are in the UK. You can get quinoa in Waitrose/Tescos/Asda/Morrisions or in a health food store. It will only be in the larger stores I suspect though. |

![]() | Hi, Channybobo. Don’t worry to much – just buy fresh, whole, unprocessed foods, and you will be benefiting from a major principle of the program. |
