Hi, Donkeye. Sorry for the delay. The fat (generally an oil) at the meal that you want a salad with dressing can be used for dressing. We recommend homemade, of course, mixing the oil with “free” items such as lemon or lime juice, vinegar, and seasonings such as garlic and herbs. You can also add a few teaspoons of yogurt to make it milky, and that would be fine, too.

That sounds really yummy and healthier than most store bought dressings. I’m no expert but I think you’ll do well with that recipe, as long as you use it in moderation (like everything else). I also think true lemon/lime is a compatible choice to help build flavor. I keep it in my cupboards for times when I do not have fresh citrus.

How would I have to account for dressing? (In the menu plan?)

Hi, Donkeye2B, and welcome. Both are great. As long as ingredients are natural and fairly unprocessed, it fits.

I am a newbie (only 4 days old) so please bear with me. My questions 1> Years ago while on a diet I was given a recipe for a dressing. I would like to know if it can be used with program? you take low fat cottage cheese and just enough milk(or liquid) place in a blender. blend until smooth. add optional things like finely chopped onions, garlic, celery, herbs.etc. could make as thin or thick as you like to use as a dressing or a spread, even use it something to make similar to macaroni / potato salad. 2>For drinks can we use the crystallized citrus products from http://www.truelemon.com not the premixed drinks, just the plain crystallized citrus packets.
