Hi jsting,
I’m in the same boat. We have a lot of good food at home before starting this nutrition plan and that is what I am viewing it as, a nutrition plan. I sometimes can’t get through the 3 meals and 3 snacks per day and I can’t afford to jump into the menu as is. Cherries are out of season, so I bought a cantaloupe. and blueberries. I use these where ever there is a fruit that I don’t have. I bought one ripe banana. I only need one this week. I bought some roast turkey at Costco and will substitute it when I don’t have pork tender loin. I froze the second pack for another week. Each week I add one or more nutritional items. Flax Seeds were on sale and should last me a few months. I didn’t have rice cakes, but they are inexpensive so now I have them. I like them with some mayo (free spread) and a slice of turkey. I figure it will take me a few more weeks to get into the groove, so don’t fret. I’ve lost 4 lbs since starting last Monday. 🙂

Hi,jsting, and welcome. Please do ease into the program, make changes gradually – just doing a little better than you did before will add up. Don’t worry about getting foods with which you are unfamiliar, or having a huge amount of variety. First, do be sure to note that in your profile (in the lower right corner), and second, definitely repeat days or even weeks, if you wish. All we ask is that you eventually upgrade to relatively unrefined and unprocessed foods, get more than just a couple of meals a day, and are sure to get in at least 5 total fruit/vegetable servings and plenty of fluid each day. The rest is a bonus.

Hello, I’m Jason. I got excited about being told what I should eat in order to lose weight, however when I got my first week of items, I couldn’t help but feel overwhelmed. I’m a single guy and I know there’s no way I’m going to be able to shop for and keep all of those different foods fresh. If I am able to buy them all, they’ll go to waste.

Is there a way to get a more reduced, repetitive menu for single people like me? As it looks, I’ll need two refrigerators. Also, do you have a recommendation for already prepared foods? Like frozen but healthy. With a full time job and a kid on the way, I know I won’t have time to prepare soups and this and that.

I don’t want to sound like a complainer, but I do want this to be successful. I can have a cucumber sandwich as a snack for three of the 7 days of the week, and interchange like that, but I don’t want to have to reconfigure the whole plan.

Help……
