One day I had tyo miss both my lunch and my snack

One day I had to miss my lunch and snack #2. I was able that tie to turn it into a free day and then I just carried on with my diet the next day. If it happens again should I try to catch up the missing food or just let that meal and snack go, and carry on with diet dinner and snack #3?
