1/2 cup cooked beans = 1 carb, 1 oz meat = 1 protein (3 oz = size of deck of playing cards; recommendation = grass-fed/organic and extra lean). You can swap the soup for the carbs and proteins allotted for a specific meal.

I love to make bean soups, but I add meat. How does this fit into the diet and how do I account for the protein and carbs?
