Appreciate guidance
![]() | Hi, Chaffersjones. Just take little steps – the small changes really do add up. Each time you prepare or eat someting, think “how can I make this just a little bit better” or try to eat just a little less of a diet-killer. The same with exercise – just start with 5 minutes, then gradually increase at your own pace. Find ways to do things that make you happy (like exercising in front of a TV show or movie you like, or taking walks with a friend); there will be some trial and error here, but there’s no rush. Remember that you are a few years younger than Harrison Ford, and more than 20 years younger than Betty White. You can have plenty of time if you’re healthy, and getting there will take less than it did to gain the unwanted weight. |
![]() | How do you get motivated when you feel tired all the time? At 70 I seem to have lost my get up and go. Any suggestions? |
![]() | That is a good point however at my stage of life every day is a Saturday |
![]() | Hi, Ubig – because people get a little wacky with treats on the weekend, and we don’t want them to get discouraged. On the other hand, knowing you have a weigh-in on Monday may prevent too much overindulgence, so that’s fine, too. |
![]() | I know that it suggested to weigh in on Friday. I was wondering why on Friday and not Monday….. |
![]() | Hi, chi-chi. For what you are describing, you may wish to seek a private dietitian where you live. In terms of how we can help you, we suggest you upload a photo of yourself and take advantage of theses forums to post your details, concerns, and questions, and we would be happy to work with you as best we can. |

![]() | hi, am new here and i don’t even know where to start from, plus I live in Canada so i don’t know how and when my gifts would be sent across to me |
![]() | Congratulations, Chickadee77! You are an inspiration 🙂 🙂 We wish you continued good health… |
![]() | I am down 15lbs since January 1st and the only real exercise I have been doing is shovelling snow. This doesn’t feel like a diet, I understand the slow pace, I also understand why I lost more in the beginning. Now im averaging 1lb a week it seems, I have more energy and I feel less strained and hungry. There is no stuck if you just try and think of it as living clean….and with less money!! Organic foods are more expensive, but dang they taste SO much better. Be well everyone. |
![]() | I know it’s hard not to get discouraged when your weight fluctuates from week to week. But just try to remember that you are not on a diet as much as you are changing your eating habits to making healthy choices. Your body will eventually adjust to the new routine. I lost 5lbs my 1st week, zero lbs the 2nd week and 1lb the 3rd week. Over all it is an average of 2lb a week. I think 1-2 lbs per week is a suitable pace. The more active you can be the better chance to see results. Be cautious of not letting your portion sizes creep up on you…. |
![]() | I just weighed again. I am back and forth between 173-175 I just read the stuck message. I guess that is me and I am back at it. Not so easy…when weather is up and down so is my mood and my eating habits and my walking. |
![]() | Hi Ibardel, Gets difficult with meetings but your meals are important. Good luck! |
![]() | I joined last night (Saturday); but decided to begin on Sunday because I needed some time to figure all these meals out before I go to work on Monday. My challenge will be trying to eat everything while working…..I get so busy, I forget to eat regularly! |
