![]() | Hi, rmchenk. There is definitely a place for you to enter all that information. Try going back to your profile (click on your name above) – you can enter your current weight, gender, height, and date of birth. |
![]() | I would still like an answer to my original question. I still, at times, feel like I am eating too much food, should I make portions smaller or just skip parts of the menu? I have never found a spot to enter anything other than my weight. Shouldn’t my age, height, and sex also factor into the equation somewhere? |
![]() | Hi, AngelGirl1. This program was designed according to diabetic care principles, so it is definitely for you! |
![]() | I have just been diagnosed with diabetes, my blood sugar is way too high. Is this the program for me? I certainly don’t want my blood sugar to go any higher, I need to get it down. |
![]() | I am not really a dieter, per say but the last real diet I was on was in 1999/2000 and I lost considerable weight, which I was able to maintain for a couple years. It was one of those diets with the shakes, that and eating much less food worked, however my bad habits took over again. My exercise program has been evolving for several months as I hurt my back last year and have been going to a chiropractor. My cardio is up to 30 mins per day for at least 5 days a week. My doctor today put me on Metformin, so my body must be not allowing the diet to work, I have just been maintaining. We’ll see what happens over the next couple months. Thanks for you input. |
![]() | Hi, rmchenk. I ran some calculations, and the numbers appear to suit you. |
![]() | Hi, Barbara. This program is generally low in carbs, about 40-45% of total energy. All of the foods you mentioned are in the Menu Planner (note that “nut milks” are under Vegan Substitutes for dairy) – just choose whatever works for you, and it will provide a menu. |
![]() | I am struggling with menu choices! I am also on a lower carb diet per doctor – I do not eat much red meat, no dairy, and no gluten. I use nut milks, coconut or almond milk yoghurt, lots of fresh fruit and veggies, eggs, tempeh, fish, and chicken |
![]() | My doctor has me on a low carb diet of 45/60 carbs per meal by 3 meals. My fasting blood glucose has risen on the diet, and so has my bedtime glucose, and I am testing 2 hours after I eat. I am seeing the doctor tomorrow, will update situation after. |
![]() | Male, Age 59 3/4, 5’11”, 233, moderate activity, regular exercise of 30/35 min/day aerobic plus life! Today’s menu is Brkfst 1serving of Potato hash brown crisps, 2 oz turkey sausage, peach, slice of SWG bread, snack1 1oz canned tuna, 2 kiwi fruits, 1/2c SWG cereal, Lunch 1 sev of green veg salad w/dressing, 2oz truly simple tuna, 1cup carrots, 1oz lf cheese, 6oz greek yogurt, 1 C garbanzo beans, snack#2 1C honeydew melon, Dinner 1C mixed green salad, 1C 1%milk, 20z turkey coldcuts, 1serv cashew chick wraps, 1 omega 3 egg, Snack#3 is 1serv green Veg Salad, 1C vegatable juice, 4 oz Tomato Broccoli Cheesy Potato bake. Lunch is carb heavy so I reduced the Garbanzos to 1/2 cup, and breakfast is carb heavy also, reduced potatoes to 1/2 cup. This menu not bad, but I feel like I’m eating too much, and have lost no weight? |
![]() | The program is actually quite low in carbs – up to 45% of energy. If you give me your stats (gender, age, height, weight, activity level) and a sample day from your menu, I will run some calculations for you and give some recommendations. |
![]() | What is the best way to handle cutting carbs on this diet. My blood sugar his risen since I started Trim Down Club. I like the menus and how I am eating better, but am concerned about my higher blood sugar. Should I spread out the meals more, eat less of certain food at each meal, or just skip the higher carb items? |
