Hi, MaryJWatson13. The keto diet is a very, very low-carbohydrate plan that is very high in fat and moderate in protein. It is used long-term to control seizures in people with epilepsy, but short-term some people find that it helps with weight loss. It can be healthy if you choose the right types of fat for your body (omega-3, olive oil), and of course, if the rest of your foods meet your nutritional needs (i.e., don’t forget vegetables!).
