![]() | Hi, Theresa. Yes, “free” means you can have as much of it as you like. When you choose free vegetables, a serving can indeed count – you don’t have to have another if more than one isn’t indicated. I would recommend to replace your omitted carb exchanges with protein or non-starchy vegtables; the swap is one-to-one for protein, and 2 vegetables for each carb exchange. |

![]() | when vegetables say free, I am assuming within reason I can eat at much of it as I want, is this true? when our menu says vegetable, and we want asparagus (which is listed as free) does that count as my veg, or do I still have to pick one that is not free? if I am lowering my carb because I am not choosing to add an exercise routine, do I have to replace the carb amount with an additional protein/veg? |
