![]() | I’m glad to know that I haven’t been doing it wrong. Thanks! |
![]() | Hi, hwyla/ As I wrote below, very lean protein exchanges are 50% bigger. |
![]() | Hi, and sorry for the delay. Yes, san@yahoo.com – you can trade starchy carb exchanges for ounces of protein. If you select a very, very lean protein – such as white fish (cod, sole, etc.), you can have 50% more (but remember that the amount is before cooking). |
![]() | Giving this a bump as I have not gotten an answer and really neither has San@yahoo |
![]() | @ Nutrition Experts – Why is it that when I look to replace my 3 oz of meat in a meal I’m offered 4-1/2 oz of shrimp or tilapia (and other fish choices) but the same food (shrimp or tilapia, etc) still say 1 oz = 1 protein exchange, just like the meat? I must admit that I had been going with the 4-1/2 oz for fish. On the plus side, that means I have opted for fish more often, however, that implies I have been eating more protein than I should – even though that is the swap my menu planner tells me to make. |
![]() | I take that back – for whatever reason, that’s how it works on my menu planner, but when I look at the exchange lists they say 1 oz = 1 exchange across the board |
![]() | Have you looked at fish or seafood? I know on my meal plan I can have more ounces of a fish or seafood than the same protein exchange for beef, pork or chicken. |
![]() | Is it possible to have more than 3 oz of protein for lunch or dinner? |
