Ossie-Sharon 9 years ago | Hi, Alushus. It’s actually a great question 🙂 Most non-“organic” or heirloom corn (such as Pioneer) is genetically modified (“GM”) meaning it has been manipulated in a way that may work against your health-improvement efforts here. Note that this GM is different from the more old-fashioned methods of selective breeding and hybridization that are fine. Further, GM corn tends to be the one that is used in processed foods and artificial sweeteners such as high-fructose corn syrup (HFCS), which have been shown to be obstructive to health and weight management. To avoid these, we recommend to eat whole, minimally processed foods and to read labels carefully. It will take a little time to get used to it, but it will become second nature. I promise! 🙂 |
