Office Work = No Exercise
![]() | Great, thanks. I’ve just finished reading the TDC Program which is very informative and covers all the questions I have about exercise! Feeling encouraged and motivated, I need to do this, I’ve been battling myself for decades and only now think I know exactly what needs to be done. Thanks TDC. |
![]() | Hi, Matt. Yes, yes, and yes! An hour a day is a good amount, and dividing it up into 30 minutes twice per day may be ideal. That amount should be fine, and as you get fitter, just change the type a little. |
![]() | Thanks Sharon, yes I intend to increase my exercise time as I get fitter. For an office worker, do you think that 30 minutes exercise brisk walking per day is a good amount, or should I plan to increase up to an hour once I lose weight and increase fitness? What is too little vs too much? |
![]() | Hi, Matt. It sounds like you’re off to a great start! As you get into better and better shape, you may wish to increase the amount of time – or add an additional 10-20 minutes per day – or give some of the time over to strength training (as simple as lifting heavy objects you have around the house in front of the TV for the length of a sitcom), or other exercises that work different muscles. These sorts of things to mix things up can help you prevent, limit, and/or work through weigh loss “plateaus”. |
![]() | Hi, I work in a an office so don’t get any exercise during the day at work, can anyone suggest how much exercise I need to be doing after work to help lose and maintain weight loss? I have a treadmill so plan to do brisk walking for 20 mins after work 5 times a week, is this enough? Thanks, Matt. |
