Hi Amanda Kelly I’ve posted already & have experienced the same as you, weight went up then back to the same. I noticed today that I have a little pot belly( probably gas!) but my rib cage looks slimmer so I think my body is slowly adjusting to the amount of food!!! Also only weigh yourself once a week as weight can fluctuate . I hope so anyway& im going to stay with it as it is a very healthy plan& not my usual”starvation plan “!!!!! I’m only on week 3 & i wiil watch out for more posts from you x

Hi, amandakelly. I’m glad to read you have stabilized, even without exercise (which shows you that you may benefit even further with some physical activity). Yes, the fact that your nails are growing absolutely could be a sign that your nutritional needs are being well-met, and is a step in the right direction. Please do keep us posted!

Ok, so I did another week. This week I was not able to exercise but I ate well, veggies, sprouted grain bread, an egg, very little to no sugar, except from the fresh apples, and fruit yogurt I had twice. I had a mild, but exciting cheat day and I am where I was at the very beginnig. Going in to my third week right where I started.
Is this normal? I have 20- 25 pounds to lose, which, to me, doesn’t seem like I am very near my goal weight at all.
I haven’t noticed any difference in the way my clothes fit at all. One thing I have noticed is that my fingernails are growing really well!! it might be a strange observation, but they have never been above the tips of my fingers before. Is this a coincidence or is this healthy eating working from the inside and I am just not seeing any outward signs yet… besides my fingernails growing???

Don’t get discouraged. The diet and exercise are worth the effort. I had blood work done. My doctor was excited that my cholesterol level was excellent, insulin level good, calcium was good, and kidney and liver function were good. I did the low sugar option on the diet. I told her I joined the trimdownclub.com. She told me to continue with the diet and will recommend the trimdownclub to patients.

I gained 4 pounds in my first 2 weeks. I am not able to weigh myself every week because I have to travel 11/2 hour to Vancouver, B.C. to the Rehab. Centre where they have a freight scale I can just roll on to in my power wheelchair.

Hi, Joyce. How are you doing now? Are you still gaining, or has it leveled off?

Hi, amandakelly. The first challenge I see right away is that you are already very close to a good goal weight (the “last few pounds” are generally considered the most difficult). However, and more importantly, if you are at the beginning of your journey here and have been exercising as well as you describe and at such a young age, the number on the scale is not an indicator – you are currently trading in your fat for muscle, and muscle is much heavier. Take a look in the mirror and try on some clothes, and see if there is a difference. Regarding the 3 pounds after the cheat day, your body may just be adjusting to the change, and most of that weight is probably water (temporary), and may make you feel fat – to test this, see if your belly is harder or the skin feels thicker than usual after such a gain – that suggests water, as fat tissue is squishy.
If after the above “reality” check you see that you may be gaining fat, please repost, and I will troubleshoot with you. The first thing I would do is to make your “cheat” day a little less risky (but still really fun), and we’ll take it from there.

I started this programme a week ago… I was so excited. I got the menus, shopped and got going…. I was a little worried as the amount of food was nearly twice what I woud usually eat but I decided that there must be more than always watching what I ate and the advise seemed sound. This week I am 1.5 pounds more than last week!! I cycled on my stationary bike 30mins twice and walked for 45mins twice… more exercise than I had done in a month. I had my cheat day and went up 3 pounds!! it took 3 days to get down 1.5 pounds. What am I doing that is so wrong??? please, please, PLEASE HELP ME !!
