![]() | Hi, Jen, and welcome! It’s great to read that you have gotten off to a good start. Our menus are a good indicator of portion sizes and daily amounts of foods that could meet your needs, and you can see the number of food group exchanges by clicking on the “Exchange mode” link in the toolbar above your finished menu; exchange portion sizes are listed here – https://www.trimdownclub.com/exchanges-lists – and they can help you calculate how many exchanges are in a food. Even if it seems complicated at first, it really can become second nature after a while. KIND bars are excellent, and taken as an example, each Honey-Smoked BBQ or Honey-Mustard bar is equivalent (approximately) to 1 carb, 1 protein, and just under 2 fat exchanges; each Dark Chocolate Cherry Cashew + Antioxidants bar is equal to 1.5 carb, 0 protein, and 1 fat exchange; and each Dark Chocolate Mocha Almond bar is equal to 1 carb, 0.5 protein, and just under 2 fat exchanges. In other words, for someone of your dimensions, each would make a great accompaniment to some milk and cut vegetables for a snack. |
![]() | Good Morning, I am beginning week three and feel really, really good. I have been very careful with my sugar intake and was wondering about possibly adding KIND brand Bars to my food choices as a once in awhile treat. If these are not too dreadful of a food choice, can I get some assistance in portion size and exchanges? Also any guidance in translating recipes and foods not listed in the plan into their portion size and exchanges would be appreciated. Thanks! |
