Hi, trentsherry96. Farro is indeed great! It is not quinoa (and is not gluten-free), but it is similar in the sense that it is an “ancient grain,” unspoiled by modern technology. It makes for an excellent snack – 1/3 cup cooked = 1 carb exchange.

Wow, I just tried something new. Farro. At first I thought, Yuck! It looks a little disgusting. I tried it anyway, according to the plan and….it’s fantastic. Now that I like it I have a few questions. Is this something I can add to a snack at night…with some berries? It looks as if it is VERY high in calories. Also, is it the same as Quinoa? Thanks so much for all your help! I LOVE this website!
