![]() | Hi ilovecollies, Thank you for the reply. I have a few questions and I hope I’m not too nosy or offensive. You said you had the bypass done 5 years ago and you didn’t say you had it reversed. I know someone that had their bypass reversed, that’s why I’m asking. If you didn’t have it reversed do you still have a small stomach like mine? The gastric sleeve turns your stomach into a tube and about 80% of the stomach is removed. I think our stomachs are pretty much the same. Have you had any problems eating the volume of food on this plan? I tried following the plan 1 day and cut the food amounts in half because I don’t want to stretch my stomach out. I doubt I can eat 4 1/2 oz of a protein, 2 slices of bread (swg) and a vegetable without stretching my stomach. The day I tried to follow the plan I wasn’t hungry a couple hours after the first meal, so I didn’t eat. Then I thought that the bariatric plan was easier. When you started did you have a problem eating the large meals and snacks in between? When I say large meals, I mean large for me. I guess I could try eating around the plate as you described. Thanks again for your reply, |
![]() | Hi Sharonn, I had a gastric bypass about 5 years ago now. I lost 100 pounds, but over the last 3 years have put on 30. I will start week 6 here on Monday. I have lost about 8 pounds so far, and I am eating more than I have in years. It’s just that we are eating the right foods, the right carbs & proteins together, and the right amounts. I wish I had found this program 30 years ago! With this program, you should eat a bite of protein, a bight of vegs, a bit of carb…eat “around the plate” so to say. Your body is meant to have all the nutrients, not just protein like we were told at the bariatric classes. At least, that’s what I have found that works best. Carbs give us the energy we need to keep moving those muscles! There is at last one other lady on here, (Debbie), that had gastric bypass, and I am sure she will also give you some help. She’s been a member a lot longer than me. Check out the 60 Day Challenge stories, she’s on there. Good Luck!! |
![]() | I had the ‘Gastric Sleeve’ surgery in December 2013 and I have lost 118 lbs so far. I need to lose at least 40 more lbs. My weight loss has really slowed down. Over the years I’ve heard that eating 6 small meals a day will help you lose weight. Eating 3 meals a day consisting of Protein First, then vegs and then a carb (if I’m still hungry) may be slowing down my weight loss. I tried preparing some foods to be able to eat the 6 meals and I found that the 3 meals a day and no snacks is stuck in my brain. If I try to eat every 2 to 3 hours I find that I’m not hungry yet. Is there anyone out there that has had Bariatric Weight Loss Surgery and switched to this eating plan and been successful? |
