| | Hi, Gracie. When we say to avoide “Whole Wheat,” we are referring to labeling loopholes in some products that sneak in refined flours. When you go for bread, please make sure it says “100% Whole ___ (Wheat, Grain, etc.)” – that “100%” is a legal term, with no loophole. Also, be sure the bread doesn’t have any hydrogenated fats. |
| | Hi Keighley…I am a Type 2 Diabetic. Take no Diabetic Meds but must watch my diet. I check my blood sugar 3 times a week. I must watch my Carbs and sugars. I question the “DO NOT USE” on Whole Wheat bread, for this was recommended for me to use by the Diabetic Assoc. Every food I check has either whole wheat or Soy ingredients. Can you help me….ds |

| | Hello, I’m new at this also and am type 2 diabetic also. I too have a hypertension. I take medication only 15 mg. 1/2 of the dose I started with 5 years ago. As vbox 1965 says eating 6 small meals or as I say 3 snacks and 3 small meal really makes a differences. |
| | Hi. I just started today. I am a diebetic still on pills, but my bloodsugar level is rising slowly. So I want to go back to a healthier me. The program looks promising, and I have to push myself to do some exercise. |
| | Hi KeighleyW., I just started the program and this is day 11 for me. I am type 2 diabetic and have been on the pump for 9 years now. I find that checking blood sugar often is the best way to keep your levels under control, also eating the 6 small meals a day has really helped a lot. I do not eat a lot of food and HATE to exercise so this is all a big challenge for me. I have always been told not to eat the potato, rice and pasta. Now this tells me its o.k as long as its in small amounts combined with a protein., who knew. I do go on the exchange page and substitute a lot of the foods I dislike for other things., I am not a big meat eater either. I have found that eating the 6 small meals a day does keep your glucose at a pretty steady level and I have even had to drop my insulin some. Plus always carry glucose tabs just in case it goes low, those work very fast. I hope you enjoy the program….. |
