Hi, beer-lovers. Each 12-ounce can or bottle of regular beer is equal to 1 carbohydrate + 2 fat exchanges; of light beer, 1/3 carbohydrate + 1-2/3 fat exchanges.

OMG! Thank you so much for posting this! My husband is obsessed with local craft breweries and I’ve learned to enjoy a lot of different kinds of beer via his hobby. It can be very difficult when he hands me pints of great beer all the time. My strategy has become to have a max 3 beers a week (1 on Friday, 1 on Saturday and 1 on Sunday). In the Trim Down Club Quick Start Guide there are suggestions on how to handle hard alcohol and wine but nothing about beer. My sense is that beer may be discouraged since its essentially like drinking liquid bread (non SWG bread at that) but it sounds like you will probably be drinking less than me so I say visit that local brewery and just be mindful about how many you have. Thanks again for posting. Beer is going to be a key thing I’ll need to look out for on my journey as well so I appreciate someone else posting about it.

Just getting ready to begin my journey and so looking forward to this challenge…..very excited about improving my well being. Would like to visit my local craft brewery once in a while and wondering how to approach this so as not to undo what I’m about to achieve……..
2 excited!!
