![]() | I have been making a smoothie with 1/2 c OJ, 1/2 banana, handfull frozen blueberries, and handfull spinach. Adding tsp sugar if needed. Is this OK for breakfast, or should I sub milk for the OJ? yfecteau thanks for asking the ? and pardon the intrusion! Very new.. |
![]() | Partly, yes, depending on what food groups are represented at breakfast in your meal plan, as well as the amounts, and of course, what is in the smoothie. You can just swap things out – for example, a breakfast of 6 oz dairy, 1 egg, 1 piece of fruit, 1 slice of bread, and 1 tsp butter is easily translated into a shake of 1 cup milk, 2 Tbsp. ground flax seeds, and 1 cup of fruit. If you can’t finish it all at one sitting, just move the leftover to the morning snack, or sip throughout the pre-lunch portion of the day. |
