Should I increase my fiber intake to improve my insulin resistance and lose weight?

Asked a year ago

I have type 2 diabetes and my body resists insulin especially during the day. I have been trying to shed off excess weight and stay healthier for long. I want to try out meal planning for this but I'm not sure what foods will suit me best. My doctor mentioned high fiber intake but I'm unsure if it will ease insulin resistance too?

Evidence suggests that fiber decreases insulin resistance in type 2 diabetes. However, you need more than just a high fiber intake for weight loss; you need the right combination of foods taken at the appropriate time to get the desired result.
